We are proud to announce that, from December 2012, subscribers of Dental Update have a greater choice of where and how to read their journal with the launch of the Dental Update App.

To download the App is free, and very easy, by finding and clicking a link on the journal's website or, if you are very brave, searching us on iTunes and downloading the App via newsstand.

The App is suitable for all android and mobile devices of all major manufacturers.

The App enables subscribers to download the journal in a user-friendly format and read it unaffected by connections and reception. This gives the reader total access to all editorial and advertising content, even in the darkest depths of the Northern Line! Dental Update is the first dental journal to offer this platform to its readers.

Readers of the electronic format will be able to have quick links to adverts and even some papers that are hosted by YouTube if they are in 3g reception or have access to broadband.

If the mobile device is attached to the internet then a simple touch of the advert on the screen will transport you directly to your chosen destination.

Dental Update is in the enviable position of being the leading subscription journal in the UK. It offers peer reviewed articles to GDPs about everyday surgical procedures.

Stuart Thompson, managing director of George Warman Publications commented, ‘Print is still the most desirable format, but we must embrace change and offer the information we publish in all forms. Reading information on mobile devices is starting to be an alternative option to print.’

He supported this by commenting that, in a recent survey to our subscribers, 85% who answered the survey said that they still preferred to read the printed copy, given the choice. With time this could change, but for now the reader has the choice and the advertiser still has the platform.

To subscribe to the App format the charge is £95. This subscription offers the subscriber 10 issues downloaded onto the mobile device of your choice, access to our website with issues and archives dating back to 1999, free CPD, and all the other benefits associated with a subscription to Dental Update.

So, if you travel on the Northern Line or train to work, Update can keep you company, inbetween BBC iplayer.
