Abstract
This 577-page epic is essentially the current status of adult dental health in the United Kingdom. It contains information from almost every conceivable angle examining, as it does, the condition of the nation's teeth and supporting structures, the social and behavioural characteristics of those assessed along with their attitudes to dental treatment and their dental attendance patterns. Its purpose is to provide information on the state of adults' teeth and oral health in the UK and to measure changes in oral health since the 1988 report.
