Abstract

There is much controversy in the dental literature and among clinicians regarding the ideal length of preparation in endodontic treatment and how this should be determined. The differing opinions are summarized and the methods of length determination described, along with their advantages and disadvantages. Practitioners are encouraged to familiarize themselves with all the available techniques and select the most appropriate for each case.
