Farewell to Professor Robin Seymour
Professor Robin Seymour, who has been a stalwart member of the Editorial Board of Dental Update for over ten years, had advised me that he wished to stand down from this position, as he had retired from Dentistry. Robin has been a hard-working member of the Board, providing many reviews of submitted articles, as well as writing substantial contributions himself. His wide range of knowledge within Dentistry and Medicine in Dentistry have provided a wealth of informative publications in Dental Update which have been of value to our readers.
Robin, I and the members of the Editorial Board thank you for your hard work on behalf of Dental Update. We will miss you, but wish you an enjoyable and long retirement.
Welcome to Dr Phil Ower
I am delighted to announce that Dr Phil Ower has accepted our invitation to join the Editorial Board of Dental Update. Phil is a specialist in Periodontics at the Briars Dental Centre in Newbury. He was President of the British Society of Periodontology in 2016, and in 2014 he was elected to the BSP Faculty. He has had papers published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology and Dental Update. He is joint editor/author of the undergraduate textbook Practical Periodontics, published in 2015 by Elsevier. He lectures nationally and internationally.
Phil lives in Hampshire near the South Downs where he spends much of his spare time with dog and cameras. He has two grown-up children who work in the arts. His passions include music, theatre, photography and walking.
I am certain that Phil will add modern thinking and extensive knowledge in Periodontics to our already superb Editorial Board. Phil, you are most welcome.
