Bleaching and bonding for the older patient
The efficacy of nightguard vital bleaching has been established in multiple randomized, double blind, controlled clinical trials.3–4 Nightguard vital bleaching was first popularized by Haywood and Heymann in 1989.5 Standard nightguard vital bleaching is undertaken with 10% carbamide peroxide within a customized mouthguard, which is made from an impression of the patient's teeth.
